Reasons to Stay Sober after October

Reasons to Stay Sober after October

Reasons to stay sober after October

Sober October is coming to an end. You’ve enjoyed it. You’ve smashed it. But now you’re at a crossroads. Do you end your sober journey right there and then and revert back to your old ways? Or do you go all in and commit to the sober life for good?

We know going sober can be daunting. Making the transition can seem like you’re switching your whole life around. So if you’ve smashed sober October and are now wondering whether full sobriety is for you, check out our list of reasons to stay sober after October.

1. You’ll save money

Did you notice how much kinder you were to your wallet throughout October? Imagine that…every month! Sobriety means no more checking your bank account the morning after a night out being scared to see how much you spent. It means no more money spent on drunken kebabs or hangover takeaways which you probably won’t be able to stomach anymore. It means spending money on the things you want to spend it on, and probably being able to save some too.

2. You’ll encourage positive mental health

The effect drinking has on mental health is profound. So cutting it out of your life together can mean feeling happier, more positive and having a much more optimistic outlook on life. Say goodbye to hangxiety and hello to a happier, healthier version of you.

3. You’ll improve your physical health

Drinking alcohol can negatively impact vital organs, increase blood pressure and cholesterol and have overall damaging effects on physical health. By making the decision to go sober, you’re also making the decision to be much kinder to your body.

4. You’ll feel accomplished

How did you feel after completing sober October? We’re guessing you felt incredible! Picture that feeling every single day. Sobriety is a journey, and one that can be truly rewarding. You’ll have plenty of milestones to celebrate along the way, as well as the overarching feeling of being proud of yourself for being sober in the first place!

5. You’ll improve your sleep

Sobriety means much deeper sleep. You’ll wake up feeling refreshed, renewed and revitalised, rather than groggy…and potentially hungover. This can have a powerful impact on your life overall as you’ll be able to go about each day with higher energy levels and focus.
