Workshop description
Bringing his knowledge as a trained trauma informed coach, breathwork facilitator and using many other tools he has learned along the way, Rick will be sharing his renowned work with the Sober & Social community on Monday 5th July.

In this workshop, Rick will help us explore how to regulate the nervous system so that we can give ourselves the often unmet needs that are often masked with drugs, alcohol and food. When we learn to regulate our own nervous systems, we’ll find that many of those addictive behaviours naturally diminish because we’ve given our system what it was looking for.

“If you are looking for somebody to hold space and help you tap into your deeper purpose, Rick is the man.” Preston Smiles

MEMBER EVENT: Pilates with Emily Andrew – Thursday 13th May

MEMBER EVENT: Pilates with Emily Andrew – Thursday 13th May

6:30 PM – 7:30 PM BST

Join us for this 60-minute pilates class with Emily Andrews. This session is the perfect post-work workout to start winding down to the end of the week.

A bit about Emily..

I’ve been teaching Pilates for over 7 years and have built up a large client base of personal and corporate clients. I run regular classes (currently online) as well as specialised 1-1s & 2-1s for a range of clients who either have specific goals, are recovering from serious accidents or have long term illnesses which require specialist support. The thing that I love about pilates is that its adaptable to you no matter how you feel – it will help you to reconnect, destress and feel great!

But what is Pilates?

Pilates is a full body exercise method that will help you do everything better. First coined ‘Contrology’ and created by Joseph Pilates as a way to calm the mind and recondition the body back into its optimum state. He used his unique brand of physical activity to rehabilitate injured army recruits and later as a way to prevent common imbalances and injuries in athletes and dancers. Now, due to it’s low impact, effective nature, Pilates can be adapted for all bodies and physical fitness levels which is why you’ll find everyone from Premier League football players to your grandparents getting onto the mat.

What should I expect?

Expect a mixture between a workout and yoga. This class will be friendly for all levels and we’ll be welcoming anyone who is postnatal.

What do I need to bring?

An exercise mat, comfy stretchy clothes and some water.

MEMBER EVENT: Coming out of lockdown – building resilience and staying on track with Simon Chapple

MEMBER EVENT: Coming out of lockdown – building resilience and staying on track with Simon Chapple

11.00am  GMT  /  6.00am EST / 12.00pm CET

Coming out of lockdown: building resilience and staying on track

As we come out of lockdown our sobriety is going to be tested in new ways. With this in mind, we wanted to offer you a space to built resilience. We’re excited to bring you this Saturday morning workshop with Simon Chapple, who will guide you through some exercises to help you tune inwardly.

What’s will we be covering?

  • What happens when we drink alcohol and why we end up feeling worse than before we started.
  • How to manage cravings, especially in social situations.
  • An insight into limiting beliefs and how to overcome them.

Simon Chapple is The Quit Alcohol Coach, marathon runner and motivational speaker. At 44 years old he decided enough was enough and quit the alcohol forever. During his drinking years, his life was ruled by alcohol, anxiety, mood swings and emotional instability. (Sound familiar?) It wasn’t an easy-going journey and in this workshop, Simon will be sharing some of his wisdom which will help us build confidence and resilience in our sobriety.

What will you need for this workshop?
You’ll need to bring a notebook or journal and a pen.

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask Simon questions during the workshop.
